MELI MELO WOMAN: THE LONDON CHATTER

MELI MELO WOMAN: THE LONDON CHATTER

Kelly Eastwood is the woman behind blog and Instagram account, @thelondonchatter where she showcases her eclectic style, international travels and London lifestyle. Having grown up in Kenya, Kelly is still deeply connected to the wildlife and nature that influenced her childhood.

She is the embodiment of the meli melo woman as she combines the bustling London lifestyle with the serenity of her roots in Kenya. It is this synergy of both busy city life and gypset dreams that is so reminiscent of the meli melo woman.

Whilst she now lives in London, she states that her heart remains in Kenya and dreams of being back there surrounded by the beauty of East Africa. This is reflected in her ‘buy to give projects’ where she collaborates with designers to sell products where 100% of profits go to supporting wildlife schemes where she grew up.

Alongside this, Kelly has her own monthly page, ‘Kelly’s Style Chatter’ published in Hello! Fashion Monthly.

It is Kelly’s confidence and individuality that have enabled the continued success of her blog since 2009 and it is these attributes that make her a meli melo woman.

MELISSA CATCHES UP WITH KELLY TO FIND OUT MORE

WHAT CAN WE FIND INSIDE YOUR MELI MELO BAG?
My keys and card, my Smythson diary, a travel sized Caudalie Beauty Elixir, Tom Ford’s Shade and Illuminate in Sublime, Chanel’s lip balm in Deep, peppermint Altoids (I buy the mini tins whenever in the US), a Byta reusable coffee cup (I refuse myself coffee as a punishment if I don’t have it on me!), a small net bag for any supermarket shopping, and my Le Specs cat eye sunglasses. Ready to go!

WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE IN THE WORLD?
WATAMU, on the coast of Kenya. That white beach (and the swing bed at my family home there) is an oasis of calm and my sanctuary away from a fast paced London life.

IF YOU COULD HAVE ANYTHING PAINTED ON AN ART BAG, WHAT WOULD IT BE/SAY?
‘BUT FIRST, SOME REBELLION...’ a daily reminder that there is always time for a coffee after a few worldly wrongs have been made rights.
