For Creative Director, Melissa Del Bono, the transition from high summer to autumn / winter should not be a compromise of style or what appeals to your personality, it should embrace and enhance both of these traits. This new collection of Designer Handbags takes classic meli melo bags, such as the Halo Tote and the Utility Bag, and reworks them in fresh, eye-catching colours. Pastel pinks, rich emeralds and deep indigos sit amongst the perennial tans and signature blacks, taking their lead from retro styles worn by bygone icons.

A natural progression from the SS15, the collection focuses on the attitude of the meli melo woman and considers how style is ingrained in her life. Whether she is a young girl on the brink of womanhood or an established lady with a rooted career and family life, these archetypal shapes have been meticulously crafted for lifelong use and eternal style. The Polly is a new style for autumn which takes its inspiration from the classic Satchel Bag. Ideal for office wear and more formal daytime occasions, it lends itself to a more androgynous aesthetic that is softened by the unique knotted detail at its front.

This season, Melissa has turned her attention to focus on a juxtaposition of colour and texture. Exquisitely soft Italian leather is the collection's hero material, while the popular calf hair finish returns to pieces such as the Backpack, Utility Tote and the Grip Clutch bag for an ultra luxe touch. Tricolour effects are also new for autumn, with unexpected combinations causing a more dynamic feel to accessorising as the colder months draw in. Print, too, has its moment with the Deville and Grey Anemone Flower designs bringing a fresh approach to monochrome.
